Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley presents Reform Judaism adult education series

Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan will present an adult education series about Reform Judaism in October. It is open to people of all faiths.

Temple Beth Shalom is a Reform Temple affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism. Rabbi Kaplan has written several books about Reform Judaism, and is recognized in the Reform Rabbinate for his knowledge and expertise in this area.
Classes will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursdays, Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at the Temple, 12202 N. 101st Ave. in Sun City.
During these four sessions, Rabbi Kaplan will help the participants look at what Reform Judaism in America means and will provide a brief history of the Reform movement. Some of the critical issues and challenges he will present are mitzvot and prayer, the nonrecognition in Israel of Reform, and how the Reform movement has responded to assimilation in the United States.
Call the Temple office at 623.977.3240 to register by noon Oct. 3. Cost is $20 for members and $35 for non-members.
